Persian Rug Galleries has been on Main Street in downtown Nashua since 1953. Owner Sy Mahfuz is recognized in the industry as one of its most astute experts, and brings a passion and love for Oriental rugs to every encounter.

He is a Certified Rug Appraiser; past trustee of the Oriental Rug Retailers of America; a recipient of its Retailer of the Year award; and a recipient of the Retailer of the Year award from the NH Chambers of Commerce. He is a sought-after speaker on the subject of Oriental rugs, and consults to rug importers and retailers throughout North America, including Karastan, Tufenkian Artisan Carpets, Amici Imports, Fabrica International and other industry giants. Sy is a third-generation Oriental rug expert, and the fourth generation, represented by his son, Fouad, will carry on the tradition.

What this means to you is that you will be dealing with people at Persian Rug Galleries who have the knowledge and experience to help you select the proper rug for any space in your home or office.

There is no substitute for seeing and feeling a wide variety of patterns, colors and qualities in person in order to help determine what rug is right for the purpose you have in mind. Persian Rug Galleries has among the largest selections of hand-knotted Oriental rugs in New England, and the largest selection of power-loomed Karastan rugs in the country. There are hundreds of rugs here, and you can look at every one, if you’d like, without ever breaking a sweat. (That’s our job.)

Be prepared – we will spend as much time as you need to answer your questions and help you choose the right rug for the right reasons. That is often 6 to 8 hours (not all at once!), but it's worth the time to help you buy with confidence. We want to make sure you understand not only the rug you're buying, but also the impact it can have on your entire interior décor.
